If you have ever dreamed of or just thought it would be cool to be a radio DJ, you can make your dream come true easier now than ever. There are a number of avenues you can take to broadcast yourself. If you are interested in hosting a music station, the first thing you'll need is a love for music, obviously. You should have a large collection of songs in either mp3 format or on CD. Some internet broadcasting services have a database of songs you may also choose from at no cost to you to play on your station. You should then choose a genre you are particularly interested in.

The next thing you will need is a computer, speakers, a microphone and a good internet connection. The software needed will usually be provided for by the internet broadcaster. Another important aspect of a Radio DJ is personality. It helps to be charismatic and positive with a good attitude towards life. Having a pleasant voice with good pronunciation and decent grammar also is a plus.
