try a school dance, talk to your administration and see if they will let you DJ at it. if not, throw a party or something.
you should start at kids..party..may 10 years old…then work your way up to kids…your age…then maybe some Teen parties….and so far

What you both need to do is to get known out there. Especially locally. You can start by making a website, like mine (http://slyvisions.com). My site shares online tips for just about anyone. You can also sign up for a MySpace if you don’t have one yet, and start getting a large network. Visit my site for more online tips that you might find interesting.
put up flyers, go to a big parking lot, and put flyers under car windsheild wipers, get your parents to take a ad in local paper. Put flyers in stores, have friends spread the word of mouth thing.
You have to establish yourself. Maybe volunteer for a few parties or at breaks of professionals. Don’t give up. You might have to have a party at a playground or a swimming party to get the needed publicity.
Learn to play guitar instead. Form a band, it’s so much cooler making music than playing it.
