New York Limos – Not Just For Business Anymore

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off

If you know New York City, you know that there's only one way to get around that magnificent metropolis in style, and that's by limo. A luxury NYC car service is where it's at if you want to pamper yourself, your guests, your business associates or your friends and family. New York limousines will get you anywhere you want to go, and they are not just for business anymore.

When most people think of limos, they picture a stretched Cadillac or Lincoln. Those, and especially Lincoln stretch limos, are still very popular and make up a good percentage of the cars in many limo fleets. However, these days you can also get other luxury cars like Mercedes Benz S-Class or BMW 7-Series sedans. The leading New York limo services also cater to those who prefer the size and comfort of luxury SUVs like Lincoln Navigators and Cadillac Escalades. In addition, SUVs come in stretched versions with a Cadillac Stretch Extended Sport Vehicle seating 18 and the ultra-prestigious Stretch Hummer seating 20! If headroom is a primary issue, limo vans and buses fit the bill. They can seat between 7 and 19 passengers in comfort. New York car service can even provide armored vehicles. Though they may look just like a regular Lincoln Town Car or Cadillac Escalade, they provide the ultimate protection.

Another misconception about limos is that they are just for wealthy business executives. Sure, business has long been taking advantage of the comfort, reliability, safety and professionalism of New York limo service for airport transportation and pickup or driving clients in style. But today's premier limo companies have greatly extended their service offerings and branched out into new fields.

One increasingly popular service is New York limo excursions where a driver who is also a tour guide picks you up at your hotel for a sightseeing trip. Refreshments are included, and tours are available in many languages. If you plan a night on the town, what better way to go than rent an elegant limo with its own bar. No need to put up with cabs or designated drivers; the limo service does it all, and you'll be envied wherever you go. Take some friends to a ballgame? Get a limo and avoid the hassles of parking and traffic. Planning a wedding? Limos mean there is one less thing to worry about, and the wedding party arrives and leaves in grand style and comfort. If you haven't been in a limo lately you're in for a surprise. Whether it's riding in a late model luxury car, in the complete privacy of a stretch limo, or the plush, spacious interior of a limo bus, you're in for a treat. Whether it's large flat-screen TVs, multi-disk digital DJ systems, surround sound, mood lighting, bars, or even hardwood floors and fish tanks, there's almost nothing that's not available to increase your riding pleasure and convenience.

So whether you've had it with cabs, plan an event, need to impress a client, or simply want to make sure you get there safely and reliably, Mew York limousine service is the way to go. It's more affordable than you think, and with all the stress in life today, you deserve a break.

Wedding Venues – Information For Brides and Grooms

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
dj

Since changes in the law in April 1995 weddings at licensed wedding venues have been officially known as civil ceremonies and no religious content is allowed during the ceremony. This includes any music with religious references such as heaven or angels etc.

This change in the law has meant there have been some fantastic wedding venues are now available to couples including stately homes, castles, and country houses. There are now over 3,000 premises approved as wedding venues throughout England and Wales. As the wedding market increases, as do the number of approved wedding venues as they appear more romantic and attractive when compared with registry offices.

However, wedding venues still face many restrictions on their premises. Examples being that licences are not granted to private residences or buildings - there needs to be free public access. This example was enforced when Prince Charles wanted to use Windsor Castle as his wedding venue. Also, open spaces such as parks and sports fields, anywhere that has a licensed bar area in the same room, mobile premises such as boats or aeroplanes are also not allowed.
The wedding venue is also not allowed to have any religious connections, whether past or present.

The actual ceremony room may not be allowed to be used for any other purpose whilst the ceremony is taking place.

Contrary to popular belief, outdoor ceremonies are not permitted at wedding venues anywhere in the UK.

For a full list of licensed wedding venues, contact the General Register Office.

There are obviously legal requirements for couples wished to get married at approved wedding venues in England and Wales. You'll need to arrange for a superintendent registrar's attendance to conduct and record the marriage. Bookings are made locally dependent on where you live.
In addition to the statutory declaratory and contracting words you'll receive from the registrar, you can also choose your own vows, allow non-religious readings and music, and have the ceremony recorded by a videographer and photographer

Approved wedding venues offer couples greater flexibility with their wedding day timetable, civil marriages can be held any time between 8am and 6pm 7 days of the week, including public holidays.

Wedding venues also offer the great advantage of being able to hold the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception at the same place. This is easier for your wedding guests, and reduces costs of moving from one building to another. Standard register offices only hold seating for around a few dozen people.

Of course, your wedding planning has no boundaries of you're getting married in a wedding venue, should you choose a relaxed wedding, or even fancy dress, no one will mind - the possibilities for your wedding are endless.

Costs of hiring a wedding venue differ greatly, as we mentioned earlier there are so many wonderful buildings like castles or stately homes, make sure you are fully aware of what you are paying for when you book your wedding venue. There may be separate charges for the ceremony, and then the reception - each wedding venue will be different, and prices can change dependent on the day of the week that you marry.

If you've decided to get married at an approved wedding venue, the first step is to contact them and make a provisional booking. With your date booked you can contact your local district superintendent and start making arrangements for your marriage.

After that, the fun of wedding planning will begin, so ensure you allow plenty of time to achieve your dream wedding without becoming stressed !

Happy Wedding planning !

21st Birthday Ideas

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
dj

As the theme queen, all my friends who are turning 21 this year wanted me to give them a few ideas to make their birthday party stand out from everyone else's. They wanted something unique, fun and memorable so here are a couple of ideas that I came up with.

THE BASICS

* Where

21st Birthday parties can be pretty cheap especially if you host it home in your back garden. If you do hire a hall or a club room, you must make sure there are toilets. If you do have it at home, include a big projector screening the last 21 years of your life in a mixture of movies and photos that will run continuously through the night and remove anything you don't wish to be damaged and lock doors that should be kept shut.

* Alcohol

It's up to you whether you provide alcohol or it's a BYO affair. If you have a bar at a club, make sure you have a tab limit which stops when you rich it or else you'll be left with a nasty surprise the next day. If you're in your backyard, fill big tubs or coolers with ice to allow the alcohol to be kept cold.

* Non-alcoholic

For those not drinking alcohol, for people under aged or for people looking for something to mix with their alcohol, juices and soft drink are great and a fantastic alternative for when the tab runs dry. Buy cans of drink in bulk to avoid having lots of plastic cups everywhere and fruit juices are pretty cheap too.

* Food

If at home, have a BBQ with bread rolls and salads and plenty of finger foods. Chips, pretzels and nuts are always a winner and try and avoid foods that require cutlery. If catering, finger foods that do the rounds are great and also means less clean up with no cutlery and paper plates.

THEMES

The Rubik's Cube Party.

A Rubik's Cube Party is a party where you have to dress up in different colours of the Rubik's cube (red, white, yellow, green, blue, orange) and by midnight you have to have swapped with other people until you're dressed all in one colour. It's quite amusing seeing guys squeezing into girls' shirts/skirts and everyone swapping shoes to get the right colour resulting in a lot of confusion. It sorta goes without saying that you don't wear your favourite shirt unless you don't mind loosing it. Award prizes at midnight for the best dressed/sexiest dressed/worst dressed etc and make sure you take plenty of pictures!

The Masquerade Ball

Want to really dress up? Then a Masquerade Ball is perfect where everyone must wear evening attire (suits for the guys and dresses for the girls) with colourful masks. Hire a hall and decorate in one or two colours with plenty of balloons and streamers and hire a DJ that will not only play the latest stuff but also something to waltz too. Give out prizes for not only the best mask but also the best dancer, best couple, worst dressed etc.

Alice in Wonderland

Take a trip back to your childhood and into the past with all your guests dressed up as Alice in Wonderland characters. Dress up as the Mad Hatter or the Cheshire Cat and hold the party in a room decorated as a Victorian Gin room with black and white photographs and "servants" that will serve drinks and finger foods.

Pirates vs Ninjas

Either dress as a pirate or a ninja and have a face off with water balloons (best done outside) and drink "ale" "grog" and "sake." Decorate the room with seafaring objects like pirate hats, flags and boats. For food cut up sandwiches to look like throwing stars and have a roast pig (or other joint of meat unless you're vegetarian) rotating over a fire. Have a treasure hunt with a pot of chocolate gold to be found! YUM!

These are just 4 ideas that will hopefully help you out when planning your big day. Be creative and add your own individual spin and ENJOY YOURSELF!

Happy Birthday!

How the DJ Can Make Or Break Your Wedding

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
dj

If you are planning a Wedding in San Diego California, then I am sure you have been told that the DJ you choose for your wedding reception can either make it or break it. Why is this such a common phrase these days? And why does the entertainment have such an impact on the course of the evening?

It is evident that there is a lot of competition between DJ companies in San Diego and Southern California as a whole which probably comes from the beautiful weather, homes, restaurants and venues throughout the county. Let's find out exactly why and how the DJ for your wedding reception in San Diego can either make, or break it.

If you view many of the websites for these entertainment and DJ companies you will see a lot of self-righteous claims about how the DJ will not only provide music for your wedding, but will also perform at the capacity of a reception coordinator, or something to that effect. This is true. The wedding coordinator is typically best for the ceremony and actually planning of the wedding (booking a location, entertainment, florist, catering and arranging the ceremony). After dinner is served, is when the DJ or Emcee will take over and become a larger coordinator of the events and arrangement. This is exactly why so many people, put so much weight in the impact of a wedding DJ.

There are many people who simply purchase home stereo equipment and claim to be a DJ who have no idea how to run the standard wedding itinerary. People often think they can save money by plugging in an ipod to a decent stereo system, which is truly not the case. If you do not have an arrangement of events and someone taking charge in the where and when of the event, it will either fall apart or people will go home early and you basically had yourself a really expensive dinner party.

If you dig even deeper into the inherent responsibilities of a Wedding DJ, you will see that this is just the beginning. Often times the DJ of a Wedding reception will perform as the mini-crisis manager or safety net, so to speak. If you are having your wedding at a family or friends back yard where you are having catering come to serve your guests and they happen to be understaffed, a good DJ will actually come away from his music playing and help out the catering staff or other vendors to ensure that evening maintains it's time line of events (or itinerary).

If there is something that everyone needs to hear, like a freeway closure on the way home, or a reminder to turn off all cell phones prior to the ceremony, the DJ will act as the Emcee by making these announcement with experience and confidence so that all of your guests are well informed. This is extremely important if a very unfortunate event were to happen at your event. This is also important in keeping your guests entertained.

A good DJ will use the microphone and events of the itinerary as a tool to keep your guests there and entertained. For example: if the open dancing commences following the first dance, than you can invite all of the couples out to the dance floor to join the bride and groom. This will be a key turning point of the evening. Either the guests will get up out of their seats and stay entertained by the music, refreshments and dancing, or they will get bored that there isn't much going on but an empty dance floor (because the DJ went right into an upbeat song) and they will begin to get bored and eventually go home.

The success of your wedding reception can be judged from how long your guests stay and enjoy themselves with what you have provided them.

This model for the importance of a good wedding DJ can not only be useful for couples in San Diego, but all cities. San Diego is a very popular city for Weddings and events as it is a vacation destination. Because of this, there are many Wedding DJ companies, people who claim to be Wedding DJ's, many independents and even many very good Wedding bands. Be sure that you seek the correct entertainment for your personal taste and preferences. If you go into it understanding it's weight and importance you will do well.

Responsibility of Driving the Band to Gigs

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
dj

Getting to gigs.

Depending on the set up of your band, getting to a gig may require a lot of planning ahead. A simple three piece may only need to worry about drums, guitar and bass to be able to perform but even that isn't without its difficulties. You can then imagine the hassle that many five or six piece bands have to endure to ensure they all make the gig in one piece, particularly if the venue is far away.

The classic mode of transport for any up and coming band is the van where everyone piles in the back. Band members and instruments can be found squashed together in the back of the van and many of the best moments of a bands career can happen in that van.

That may allude to groupie behavior but it also includes the bonding sessions that can occur. Driving a van can keep everyone together. It does require someone in the band being able to drive or getting someone else to do it. Getting someone else to do it may cost some money but if someone in the band drives, this may cause a separation in the mindset of the group.

If everyone else in the band is enjoying a drink after the gig, the designated driver will remain sober and probably become ever more exasperated with his band mates behavior as the night continues. No one particularly enjoys being stone cold sober whilst everyone else is drinking and this should be remembered if one person in the band is keeping a clear head.

If a few people can drive, it may be good to take turns to prevent one person feeling as though they are always being landed with the driving duties. It is also beneficial to ensure that not one person is left with the task of loading and unloading the van as again, this would get someone really angry if it was always left to them. It is easy to forget about this stuff when you have just played a gig but this is the sort of issue that can really affect some people and therefore could damage the band. It may seem a small thing but if it happens time after time, people can get really upset and feel as though they are being taken for granted.

Having responsibilities laid out ahead of time can ease these situations. Once you can pay for roadies to drive and even set up and tear down for you then you can enjoy all that being in a band offers.

When you are surrounded by "yes people" it is important to have an impartial facilitator to give it to you straight, to kick your **** when it needs to be. You have agents and managers to handle the band as an entity. You need a coach to guide the most important part of the band, its members, to a life of balance.

The Best Resorts In Majorca

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
dj

When summer comes, it seems that all of Europe goes on holiday in Majorca; since the first custom built Majorca resorts appeared in the 1960s, the island has been the number one choice for sun and sand holidays. The combination of beautiful beaches, busy nightlife, blazing sun, numerous hotels and low cost flights have made cheap holidays in Majorca irresistible for many, with the island attracting millions of visitors from England, Ireland, Germany and many other parts of Europe every summer.

There are over two dozen resorts in Majorca, and they are by no means identical. Each one has its own attractions and individual character, so whether you want to party the night away or relax on the beach with the kids, there will be a resort to suit you. Here is a selection of the best resorts in Majorca:

Alcudia - Best for...Beaches

For a cheap holiday in Majorca, one thing matters above all others - the beach. There's plenty to do apart from swimming and sunbathing in Majorca, but the majority of visitors have come to escape grey skies at home and grab a little quality time in the sun.

So if hitting the beach is your top priority, Alcudia is the place to be. Widely reckoned to be the best in Majorca, Alcudia's gorgeous beach stretches out for over nine miles along the north coast of the island. The water is calm and safe for children to play in, and there are a huge range of water sports and activities to get involved with. If you want to lounge on the best beach in Majorca, a holiday in Alcudia will be perfect for you.

Magaluf - Best for...Clubbing

If you are looking for a party while on holiday in Majorca, there's nowhere better than Magaluf. The central strip is stuffed full of bars, and you are spoilt for choice for clubs, with BCM and Bananas two of the biggest and most popular. Magaluf is well known on the European clubbing scene, and regularly hosts top DJs like Judge Jules and DJ Sammy. The resort is especially popular with a young British crowd, with many going on a cheap holiday in Majorca specifically to hit the clubs of Magaluf. But it's not all clubbing at this Majorca resort: it also has a massive water park (perfect for kids...or to cure a hangover!), a go-karting track, and one of the best beaches on the island.

Palma Nova - Best for...Families

There are numerous family friendly Majorca resorts, but Palma Nova may be the pick of the bunch. The resort is quieter and more relaxed than some of the busier, club focused resorts. The beach is clean, safe and ideal for families, and most of the evening entertainment is designed to be family friendly. There are plenty of activities to keep children entertained, including junior golf, and the waterpark at the neighbouring resort of Magaluf. Overall, the resort of Palma is ideal for a cheap family holiday to Majorca.

Palma City - Best for...Culture

Culture may not be the first thing that springs to mind for a holiday in Majorca, but its capital, Palma City, is the perfect place to combine some time in the sun with a taste of Spanish and Balearic culture. Most travellers to Majorca will prefer to stay in a holiday resort on the beach, but Palma City is perfect for a day trip. The best restaurants in the islands are in Palma, offering a great selection of Majorcan cuisine. The city also features a massive medieval cathedral, partially restored by Antoni Gaudi, and several good art museums. Once you've filled up on culture, you can enjoy numerous nearby beaches or the city's very active bar and clubbing culture before you return to your Majorca resort.

Daniel Eyre is the Product Manager of Search Travel Online. Search Travel Online is part of the Co-operative Group, specialising in cheap holidays to Majorca the Algarve, Costa Brava, Tenerife, Costa Dorada, Costa del Sol, Andorra, Egypt, Malta and the Canaries.

So you need to know how to put songs in order on your iPod. You've followed the instructions, you've done everything correctly for downloading the songs, but now you can't seem to make them play in the order you want. I know how you feel - that was one of my big problems when I worked with my first iPod. It's frustrating, no doubt. But there is an answer!

To put songs in order on your iPod, start with a little patience. It takes a while to figure this out, and even with the instructions in this article, you might have to give it a few tries before you get it right! Don't worry - you will get it right, and you will be changing your song order like a pro in no time.

First, log onto iTunes. On the bottom left side of the screen, there is a plus sign. Click on that. It will allow you to make a playlist for your iPod. Create a title for your playlist, and you will see it take its place among your other titled playlists.

Now comes the fun part. Choose the songs you want to hear, and choose them in order. It is always helpful to me to write down the list on a piece of paper as I'm going through my library. I then look at the list, and organize them again if I need to do so. For instance, a workout playlist will include some slower tunes at the beginning for a warm up, a faster list in the middle for the actual workout, and a slower list of calming songs to help me cool down.

Drag the songs to the playlist. You do this simply by clicking on the song, and dragging it with your mouse to the playlist icon. Once they are in the playlist, you can arrange them a final time, and make sure you have them in the proper order. Once you put them in your iPod, you can't change the order of the playlist!

Plug in your iPod and download the playlist. As soon as it is finished, you're ready to go!

Putting those songs in order on your iPod can be frustrating, but once you have mastered the art of the playlist, you can tweak your favorites. If you listen to it once and decide a particular song doesn't fit, you can always go back to iTunes, fix the playlist by adding in a different song, and downloading it to your iPod again.

Soon you will have a playlist for every occasion and every mood. Now be honest, was learning how to put songs in order on iPod really that hard? With your iPod, you're ready to take on the world with your own soundtrack to back you up!

Now that you know how to put songs in order on your iPod, are there other problems you need to resolve? We've got the answers at http://www.ipodinfosource.com

Saving on Your Hosting Bill With Squidoo Lenses

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
dj

Hosting can cost from $1 to over $100, though the average price is usually less than $20. Sound cheap? Well, it is until you multiply that number by 100 or even 1,000. And, if you're going to be a serious Internet marketer, eventually, you will have that many sites in your repertoire. This is why it's important to consider free hosting alternatives. One of the best is Squidoo.

What is Squidoo? Squidoo is a powerful Web 2.0 site that allows people to create their own blogs, (also known as lenses). There is no charge for hosting, and virtually no limit to how many lenses can be created. Additionally, Squidoo participates in AdSense revenue-sharing. This means that they will allow you to keep revenue from your AdSense clicks a certain percentage of the time. The exact percentage will depend on what is being promoted.

So, what's the best way to create a money-making Squidoo lens? Well, first make sure you can write solid articles surrounding whatever your official website or affiliate program is about. Don't fall into the temptation to just post a bunch of advertisements on your lens. Readers will only be put off by your lens and not click on any ads, whether they are your own links or AdSense. It's much better to provide valuable information that will build up interest to your product or service rather than advertise it outright.

Anyway, as you are writing your articles, don't forget that you want to try and make secondary income from AdSense, should your reader not click on any of your links. To do this you will need to incorporate keywords that AdSense bots will pick up. Try to use more popular keywords, since this will net you more money. In fact, if you can, consider buying a list containing the most expensive AdSense keywords. You should be able to find these easily by doing a basic search on Google or another search engine. Once you get it, find the keywords that best match what you're talking about and use them 2 to 6 percent of the time throughout your text. If you do things right, the more expensive keywords will get integrated into your lens. Granted, you won't always get the revenue, but at least when you do, you can be assured that it will be high.

Okay now, at this point many AdSense gurus might feel uncomfortable at the thought of sharing any revenue with another company. They may feel that it's better to just get a regular hosting account for their blogs than to go that route. Well, again, there's still the issue of the numbers game if you do massive Internet marketing. But there's another issue at stake presence. Squidoo is already indexed by search engines, and has a high page rank. This means that any lenses produced on their network are more likely to get noticed by search engines than a new, no-name website. And for newbies who may not know how to rank high on their own, this is a major advantage that can't be overlooked.

In conclusion, Squidoo is the best place to turn if you're looking for an affordable way to create a blog or series of blogs. There are no recurring charges, but you will have to share any Adsense revenue you make. This is a disadvantage, but Squidoo's popularity in search engine listings should overcome it at least for the newbie.

UK Music Festivals Preview 2007

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
dj

The UK Music Festival season is now in full swing. Already this summer we have had the Isle of Wight Festival, headlined by the granddads of rock the Rolling Stones, We have also had Download rocking Donnington Park and this past weekend we saw the Wireless Festival camp out in Hyde Park London.

Next weekend the Grand daddy of all festivals is with us, with the Glastonbury Festival returning after a year away. The past week has been wet so looks like the mud fest could return, if you did not get a ticket the only way and the driest way is to watch it on BBC television.

If you still want some festival action this summer there are still some great festivals to come this summer.

The Big Chill is a festival taking it back to its roots, and is much less commercialised than the bigger corporate festivals. The smaller scale festival is home to chill out music, 100s of craft stalls, cinemas, lots of circus and street entertainers, and a more family orientated event. The venue is fantastic, overlooking the Malvern Hills.

The V Festival, started life in 1996 as a single day concert called Pulp in the Park, it then grew a second day headlined by Paul Weller, and was sponsored by Richard Branson and his Virgin group. It was the original 2-site music festival. Over the years it has grown to become one of the biggest festivals in the UK. It operates on two sites in Chelmsford and Weston Park Staffs, and takes place on the weekend before the August Bank Holiday Weekend. It has managed to attract the best acts of the moment with the best breakthrough groups also. This year the Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol and The Killers take centre stage.

The Carling Festival takes in the Leeds and Reading Festivals. The two-site form has been around for 9 years, the Reading Festival though dates back to the 1970s, and used to be called Reading Rock. The Reading Festival attracts the top indie groups but also often has a rockier sound too, with past headliners including Nirvana, Greenday, and raps have taken centre stage with the likes of 50 Cent and Eminem going down a storm. This year headliners include The Smashing Pumpkins, Razorlight, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. This years event is over the August Bank Holiday.

Creamfields is also on the August Bank Holiday and takes place in Liverpool. The Creamfields festival is hosted by global superclub brand Cream. They have organised parties all of the world, but Liverpool is where it all started so this festival is close to their heart. The Creamfields festival attracts the worlds top DJs to perform in huge tents, premier league DJs such as Paul Van Dyk, amd Tiesto have all lifted the roofs off with huge sets.

The UK Summer Music Festival is just beginning so have a great time and enjoy the music.

Martin Warn is owner and editor of Warnfestivals and is a festival scene expert visit http://www.warnfestivals.co.uk for a full guide to the summer music festival season.

Bob Baldwin Standing Tall Jazz Music CD Review

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off
dj

Bob Baldwin has released him most recent album entitled Standing Tall.

This one grabs your attention right from the beginning with Stand Tall and doesn't let go until the very last note of the very last song Too Late, which by the way is another great track.

Jazz music fans will recognize some of the well known guests that have been assembled to play along with Baldwin on several of the tracks. Artists like Roy Ayers and Phil Perry just to name a couple.

Listen to Standing Tall and I believe you'll find there's not much to dis-like about it. The songs are inspired, the production is simply outstanding, and Bob Baldwin is clearly in top form. So much so that if you're even mildly into Jazz music you'll enjoy this album.

While the entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 3 - Too Late, track 10 - She's Single, Ready To Mingle, and track 6 - Where Are You Going?.

My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 8 - Everybody Loves The Sunshine. This is a great track!
